Soccer Game Preview: Cedar vs. Dixie

The Cedar Reds will face off against the Dixie Flyers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Cedar is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Crimson Cliffs on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Cedar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Crimson Cliffs are ranked tenth).

Cedar's goal came courtesy of TyLee Nielson, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dixie). They never let Pine View get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Cedar's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Dixie, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Cedar came out on top in a nail-biter against Dixie when the teams last played on September 5th, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Reds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Flyers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
