Basketball Game Preview: Deuel Cardinals vs. DeSmet Bulldogs

Deuel hasn't had much luck against DeSmet recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Deuel Cardinals will head out to face off against the DeSmet Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Deuel will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

While Deuel didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Britton-Hecla on Friday as Deuel made off with a 73-53 victory. That looming 73-53 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cardinals yet this season.

Meanwhile, DeSmet opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-48 defeat to St. Mary.

Deuel's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for DeSmet, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Things could have been worse for Deuel, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-39 loss to DeSmet when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Deuel avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
