Volleyball Recap: Lucas' Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

While Lucas's victory against Cardington-Lincoln wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cubs had just enough and edged out the Pirates 3-2 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cubs as it put an end to their seven-match losing streak.

Lucas took Cardington-Lincoln into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Lucas' victory bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Cardington-Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Lucas and Crestline will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Cardington-Lincoln, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Mt. Gilead on the 7th.
