Softball Recap: Orosi Takes a Loss

Orosi dropped their record down to 7-17-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 20-1 to the Orange Cove Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on April 3rd.

Orosi saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miah Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Orange Cove, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Orange Cove's side, Daisy Regalado made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Regalado has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Orange Cove got a massive performance out of Allyanah Cano, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Cano has posted since April 1st. Kassandra Ocejo was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orosi will square off against Farmersville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orange Cove, they will venture away from home to face off against Strathmore at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
