Soccer Game Preview: Fairhope vs. Spanish Fort

The Fairhope Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Spanish Fort Toros at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairhope's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fairhope was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They never let Daphne get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fort entered their tilt with Baldwin County on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for Spanish Fort, who have now won ten games by five goals or more so far this season.

Spanish Fort pushed their record up to 14-1-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those five matchups. As for Fairhope, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6-2.
