Basketball Game Preview: John Carroll Patriots vs. Gilman Greyhounds

The John Carroll Patriots will face off against the Gilman Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in John Carroll's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, John Carroll turned things around against The Carmel School on Sunday. They claimed a resounding 86-59 victory over the Wildcats. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Meanwhile, Gilman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Holy Ghost Prep. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (57), the Greyhounds still had to take the loss.

Gilman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for John Carroll, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

John Carroll opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-42 loss to Gilman. Can John Carroll avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
