Baseball Game Preview: Mantachie Mustangs vs. Belmont Cardinals

Mantachie is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Belmont a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Mantachie Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Belmont Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Saturday, Mantachie came up short against New Site and fell 10-6.

Mantachie saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Baxter, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Baxter has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Belmont lost 15-5 to Booneville on Friday.

Belmont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Mantachie, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Mantachie couldn't quite get it done against Belmont in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can Mantachie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
