Softball Recap: Hopewell Titans vs. Mallard Creek Mavericks

Hopewell put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past the Mallard Creek Mavericks 11-5. The high-scoring effort was just what Hopewell needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Emma Hubert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits. Hubert was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Jones, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Another player making a difference was Addison Pless, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

On Mallard Creek's side, Mena Kuzara made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Makaila Murray was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Hopewell pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mallard Creek, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.
