Soccer Game Preview: Edgewood vs. Fort Atkinson

The Edgewood Crusaders will challenge the Fort Atkinson Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edgewood's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Fort Atkinson's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Edgewood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wisconsin's top teams: Brookfield Central, who was ranked 25th at the time (Edgewood was ranked 13th). The Crusaders and the Lancers finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Fort Atkinson kept a clean sheet against Reedsburg on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Beavers. Considering Fort Atkinson have won three matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Edgewood's draw makes their record 7-1-2 this season. As for Fort Atkinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2-3 record this season.

Edgewood beat Fort Atkinson by a goal in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 2-1. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blackhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
