Baseball Recap: Pueblo West Takes a Loss

Pueblo West couldn't beat Doherty on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Cyclones came up short against the Spartans, falling 14-4. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

JoJo Mendoza made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Trace Humphrey, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Pueblo West's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Doherty, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

While Pueblo West had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
