Basketball Recap: Evangel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Evangel Christian Academy played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Limon Badgers and fell 66-32. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Badgers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Evangel Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brock Jones, who posted 15 points and six rebounds. He has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Boaz Galliart, who earned ten points.

Even though they lost, Evangel Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Limon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Kollath led the charge by shooting 58% from the field en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Kollath a new career-high. Brody Scherrer was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and six assists.

Evangel Christian Academy's record now sits at 10-10. As for Limon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season.
