Preview: Northern Vance vs. Southern Vance
This Friday at 7:00 PM, Northern Vance (2-8) is pitted against Southern Vance (5-5). Northern Vance has a win under its belt but has never won back-to-back; of course, Southern Vance will be hoping to keep it that way.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's just how it played out between Northern Vance and J.F. Webb. Northern Vance strolled past J.F. Webb last week with points to spare, taking the game 33 - 13. The high-scoring offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Northern Vance's flat performance last game.
As for Southern Vance, it couldn't quite keep up with Warren County two weeks ago and ended up losing 32 - 30. The team got a solid performance out of senior Tyrese Henderson (he earned two touchdowns and 200 yards rushing the ball); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. Henderson has been a consistent playmaker for Southern Vance as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
The last time they met, Northern Vance was the 28 - 6 victor. The rematch might be a little tougher for it since the team will be on Southern Vance's home field this time. We'll soon find out whether that makes a difference or not.
