Baseball Recap: John Marshall Comes Up Short

John Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-2 to the Mayo Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

John Marshall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Wayne, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Ethyn Bertschinger also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

John Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mayo, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
