Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes Down West Linn in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jefferson had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They snuck past the West Linn Lions with a 62-58 victory. The Democrats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Despite the defeat, West Linn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaylor Buse dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Buse also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ayla Arnold, who posted eight points along with five boards and three steals.

Jefferson's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 32-3. As for West Linn, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-8.

Jefferson has already played their next matchup, a 77-57 defeat against Clackamas on the 14th. As for West Linn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-52 victory against McMinnville on the 13th.
