Basketball Recap: Pleasant Grove Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Christopher Billy and Pharrell Williams

Pleasant Grove lost against Franklin back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pleasant Grove Eagles fell 63-54 to the Franklin Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 547th, while the Wildcats are ranked 59th).

Pleasant Grove's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Pharrell Williams, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and six boards, and Christopher Billy, who went 7 for 13 en route to 16 points. That's the most points Billy has posted since back in December of 2024. Jordan Thai was another key player, putting up five points and eight assists.

Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Juarros, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Fahlen, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Pleasant Grove and nudges their season record down to 7-16. As for Franklin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sheldon the next time they take the court. Pleasant Grove will head out to face Sheldon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Franklin will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
