Softball Recap: Freeport Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Freeport's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Rockford Auburn Knights by a score of 6-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pretzels as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Diem Beach spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Quinn Krzeminiski was incredible, firing off two home runs and three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March.

Freeport's win bumped their record up to 7-20. As for Rockford Auburn, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Freeport is set to challenge their familiar foe Hononegah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Rockford Auburn will square off against rival Boylan Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
