Basketball Recap: Master's Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

While it was all tied up 13-13 at halftime, Master's Academy was not quite Winter Park's equal in the second half on Saturday. They took a 36-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winter Park Wildcats. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Master's Academy still got an impressive performance from Jasie Vellon, who posted nine points.

Winter Park can attribute much of their success to Tyler Seay, who put up 16 points and three steals. That's the most steals Seay has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Riley, who scored six points in addition to six boards and four blocks.

Master's Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Winter Park, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Master's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-40 defeat against Mount Dora Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Winter Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-26 win against Foundation Academy on the 28th.
