Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Chargers vs. Central Valley Cougars

The Riverside Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Central Valley Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Riverside is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Nebraska Lutheran: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Riverside blew Nebraska Lutheran out of the water with an 80-42 final score. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Central Valley waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-48 W against the Wolves.

Central Valley's win came from a few key players Riverside will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zevan Wolf, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cordel Wagner, who had six points.

Central Valley pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.
