Football Recap: O'connor's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday + How To Watch

O'Connor took a 44-point defeat the last time they faced off against Saguaro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Sabercats 40-37. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Jeremy Adeyanju produced another solid effort rushing for 166 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of O'Connor's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brodie Moore, who rushed for 68 yards on only nine carries.

When it comes to explaining why Saguaro lost on Friday, don't look at Marcel Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 130 yards and two TDs on only ten passes. The Sabercats also got help from Nikolai Procopio, who showed off his sure hands for 103 receiving yards.

The victory snapped O'Connor's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for Saguaro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

O'Connor and Saguaro will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Eagles see the field they'll take on Boulder Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Saguaro, their break will end when they face Williams Field at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
