Lakeside Christian faced Calvary Chapel Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Lions walked away with a 16-6 win over the Eagles. Those 16 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Jaxon Vela was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 69 yards and one TD, and also picked up 58 receiving yards.

Lakeside Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.3 points over those games. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Lakeside Christian has already played their next contest, a 58-22 defeat against Hernando Christian Academy on the 10th. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lake Mary Prep at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
