Softball Recap: Parkwood Comes Up Short

Parkwood and Central Academy pushed the score to 12-9 the last time they played Central Academy, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Wolf Pack fell 3-0 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Wolf Pack's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Chloe Purgason spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Parkwood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Central Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8.
