Volleyball Recap: Notus Has No Trouble Against Centennial Baptist

Notus had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Centennial Baptist on Saturday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win.

Isela Garcia paced Notus' offense, picking up five kills. Garcia got some help from Kendall Woodland and her six assists. Finally, Baylee Clelland kept Notus' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Centennial Baptist's defeat wasn't for lack of effort from Leilani Malepeai: she had 22 kills, four digs, and two aces in a losing cause. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Knight, who had 11 digs and an assist.

Notus now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Centennial Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notus will face off against Adrian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial Baptist, they will challenge Rimrock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
