The Staples Center in Los Angeles – home to the NBA's Clippers and Lakers – is a frequent host of high school basketball games.

But the opportunity to play on the same court as Kobe Bryant, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul is still special for those lucky enough to do so.

MaxPreps photographer Vince Pugliese was on hand as Bellarmine-Jefferson (Burbank) and San Gabriel Academy (San Gabriel) did just that Wednesday, serving as the opening act at Staples as the Clippers posted a 122-117 win over the Blazers in the evening.

San Gabriel Valley ran away with a 66-33 victory of its own, but the participants who fulfilled their dream of playing on one of basketball's grandest stages were the real winners.
