Soccer Game Preview: Basalt vs. Vail Mountain

Basalt hasn't had much luck against Vail Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Longhorns are taking a road trip to challenge the Gore Rangers at 2:00 p.m. Basalt will be strutting in after a win while Vail Mountain will be coming in after a loss.

Basalt is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Aspen a 2-0 shutout two weeks ago. The victory continues a trend for Basalt in their matchups with Aspen: they've now won three in a row.

Nyla Visnic and Macy Rowley scored both of Basalt's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, after soaring to nine goals the game before, Vail Mountain was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against Delta, falling 6-0. The loss put an end to Vail Mountain's undefeated start to the season.

Basalt's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2-1. As for Vail Mountain, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.
