Softball Recap: Los Molinos Extends Winning Streak to Five

Los Molinos extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 18-2-1 in the process. They blew past the Shasta Wolves 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Addison Jones was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Karina Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Natalie Martinez was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Shasta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 7th.

On Shasta's side, Soleil Waterman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Los Molinos wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-2 defeat against University Prep on the 25th. As for Shasta, they have also already played their next match, an 8-6 win against Lassen on the 25th.
