Volleyball Recap: West Orange Starts Season with Loss at Home

West Orange unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the J.P. Stevens Hawks on Wednesday.

While West Orange ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18.

Nick Dent paced West Orange's offense, picking up three kills. Dent got some help from Carnegie Pierre and his six assists. Finally, Jeremiah Cadet kept West Orange's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

West Orange will head out to square off against Science Park at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for J.P. Stevens, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Piscataway at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
