Softball Recap: Bishop Montgomery Has No Trouble Against Bishop Conaty-Loretto

Bishop Montgomery got themselves on the board against Bishop Conaty-Loretto on Thursday, but Bishop Conaty-Loretto never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats as they made off with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Macey Kim was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Grace Garciaparra and Molly Forbess did most of the damage at the plate: Garciaparra went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Forbess went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave Garciaparra a new career-high. Meridian Cordova also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bishop Montgomery now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Bishop Montgomery will take on Serra at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Montgomery's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Serra's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, they will challenge Jefferson at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
