Softball Recap: Clover Hill Has No Trouble Against J.R. Tucker

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Midlothian, Clover Hill was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the J.R. Tucker Tigers. The victory continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.

Clover Hill let Madison Hayes and Cayla Wright run wild. Hayes scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Wright scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those stolen bases marked the first that Hayes snagged this season. Paige Marshall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Clover Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as J.R. Tucker only posted an OBP of .286.

Clover Hill's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for J.R. Tucker, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Clover Hill and J.R. Tucker will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time Clover Hill sees the field they'll take on Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on April 8. As for J.R. Tucker, their break will end when they face Maggie Walker at 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
