Softball Game Preview: Woden Eagles vs. West Sabine Tigers

For the second straight game, Woden will face off against West Sabine. The Eagles will square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Woden has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Woden turned things around against West Sabine on Thursday. They skirted past the Tigers 4-2.

Riley Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Judith Montoya was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jolette Montoya, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Woden's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for West Sabine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-10-1 record this season.
