Baseball Preview: Gallia Academy Blue Devils vs. Fairland Dragons        
        
		
            The Gallia Academy Blue Devils are taking a road trip to  face off against the Fairland Dragons  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Gallia Academy knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Fairland likes a good challenge.
Gallia Academy came out on top against Dawson-Bryant  on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Blue Devils never let the Hornets get on the board and left with  a   10-0  victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  win against them.
Meanwhile, Fairland had to endure  a  nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Portsmouth on Monday, sneaking past  6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Dragons have posted  since May 22, 2024.
 Ethan Wall was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   eight  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. He has become a key player for Fairland: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 3-14 otherwise.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Garrett Cornwell, who  went 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of  Elias Blankenship, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
 Gallia Academy's record is now 9-11-1. As for Fairland, their record now sits at 6-15.
 Everything went Gallia Academy's way against Fairland when the teams last played  last Monday, as Gallia Academy made off with  an  8-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
