Antlers and Hugo are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. Antlers will host Hugo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Antlers has three straight wins, Hugo has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Antlers is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over Dickson on Thursday. The Bearcats not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.
Max Duncan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Case Moore was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Charlie Walls was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Antlers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hugo fell victim to Battiest and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Panthers.
Hugo also got a good showing from C.J. Ward, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Antlers pushed their record up to 3-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Hugo, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Antlers was able to grind out a solid victory over Hugo when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 6-1. Will Antlers repeat their success, or does Hugo has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
