League recap: Pine Forest scores huge upset over Pensacola

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pine Forest, who took down 97th ranked Pensacola, 20-13. Trebian Suggs threw for 20 yards and ran for 291 yards in the win.

Tate made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,056 from 7,530. The advance stemmed from a 34-14 victory over the Aggies last week.

The Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver.

Terrance Sims was the best wideout in 6A District 1 this week as Pine Forest bested the Tigers. Sims tallied one reception for 20 yards.

Washington's Clay Hinton and Michael Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hinton has thrown for 600 yards this season, while Thomas, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 12 catches for 200 yards. Suggs from Jerry Pollard's team leads the league in rushing with 921 yards.

Suggs of the the Eagles is only 79 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Milton takes on Pace. At the moment, the Panthers are in third, while the Patriots are in first.

Pace led 6A District 1 in scoring this week after putting up 34 points on Tate. J.c. Curry ran for 224 yards in the win.
