Softball Recap: Mize Comes Up Short

Mize lost against Puckett back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Mize fell just short of Puckett by a score of 5-3. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mize saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lizanna Waters, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Mize's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Puckett, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4-1.

Looking ahead, Mize is taking a road trip to face off against Stringer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Stringer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Mize's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Puckett, they will welcome Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Pisgah will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Puckett surely won't give up without a fight.
