Georgetown hasn't had much luck against Blanchester recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The G-Men will host the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m.
Georgetown is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Wednesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Bethel-Tate.
Georgetown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Ison, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Dylan Holtz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Blanchester won against Clermont Northeastern last Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Felicity-Franklin. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Sammy Roush made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Caleb Sears was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cole Mueller, who went 1-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Blanchester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Blanchester, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
