Weddington faced Marvin Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Warriors fell 7-2 to the Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Weddington and nudges their season record down to 14-6. As for Marvin Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 14-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mavericks beat Weddington by a score of 12-4 on Thursday.
