Softball Game Preview: Dirigo Cougars vs. Mountain Valley Falcons

The Dirigo Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Mountain Valley Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dirigo will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

On Wednesday, Dirigo made easy work of Oak Hill and carried off a 14-2 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mountain Valley never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Mount Abram. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

Maddy Brown was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Kyanah Wing was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Dirigo's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Mountain Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Dirigo beat Mountain Valley 7-3 when the teams last played back in June of 2025. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
