Recap: Ridge Community Bolts vs. George Jenkins Eagles
The Ridge Community Bolts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 62-19 loss at the hands of George Jenkins. While losing is never fun, Ridge Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while George Jenkins is ranked 217th).
George Jenkins was led to victory by Marykate Benham and Taylor Gibson. Benham scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Gibson scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anessa Mayfield, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Ridge Community has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for George Jenkins, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridge Community will take on East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. George Jenkins won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jordan Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Jordan Christian Prep is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
