Volleyball Game Preview: Chequamegon Screaming Eagles vs. Marathon Red Raiders

The Chequamegon Screaming Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Marathon Red Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Chequamegon came up short against Abbotsford and fell 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Screaming Eagles in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost eight in a row.

Chequamegon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 25-10, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Marathon made easy work of Pacelli on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The victory didn't come easy: Pacelli scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.

Chequamegon now has a losing record of 15-16. As for Marathon, their win ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-12.

Chequamegon couldn't quite get it done against Marathon in their previous matchup back in October of 2021 as they fell 2-0. Can the Screaming Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
