Basketball Recap: Collegium Charter Cougar vs. Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy Falcons
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Garnet Valley, the Collegium Charter Cougar were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They took down Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy 69-51. The victory was all the more spectacular given Collegium Charter's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Falcons are ranked 247th).
Despite the loss, Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jameer Zachary, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Zachary is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Peter Haviland was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Collegium Charter's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
Collegium Charter will take on the Griffens at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Philadelphia Montgomery Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully the Falcons like a good challenge.
