Sierra had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 9-8 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Yosemite Badgers 9-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chieftains also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Addy Carrillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexie Valle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dixie Dow, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Sierra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

As for Yosemite, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since April 2, 2024.

On Yosemite's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Ramsey, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Taylor Bullock was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Sierra will have a chance to go back-to-back against Yosemite: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
