Preview: Lower Richland Diamond Hornets vs. Swansea Tigers
Lower Richland has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Swansea Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lower Richland will be strutting in after a win while the Tigers will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Lower Richland strolled past the Bearcats with points to spare, taking the game 50-32.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Swansea, who are still winless after their 20th contest. They had to suffer through a rough 95-25 loss at the hands of Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Swansea has struggled against the Bruins recently, as their game on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Swansea got a solid performance out of Michael Murphy, who scored seven points.
Lower Richland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Swansea, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Lower Richland against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 65-24 victory. With Lower Richland ahead 43-9 at the half, the game was all but over already.
