Basketball Recap: Bear Grass Charter Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bear Grass Charter can now relate to. They were beaten by the Lejeune Devil Pups 81-39 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Devil Pups: they've now lost four in a row.

Bear Grass Charter's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dawson Gardner, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds, and Nate Gurganus, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gurganus, who scored five points.

It was another big night for Devon Charles, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards for Lejeune. Charles' big performance that evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Connor Shea was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

Bear Grass Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-12. As for Lejeune, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

Bear Grass Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lejeune, they have already played their next contest, a 66-45 win against Ocracoke on the 28th.
