Basketball Recap: Radford Gets the Win

If Glenvar wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Radford, they should've done a better job of containing Kearson Carter. The Radford Bobcats enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over the Glenvar Highlanders on Thursday thanks to Carter, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Radford's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Adoncia Hayes, who posted five points and four steals. She is becoming a predictor of Radford's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 7-8 when she doesn't).

The win got Radford back to even at 9-9. As for Glenvar, they dropped their record down to 0-21 with the defeat, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Bobcats face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenvar, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carroll County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenvar is facing Carroll County at the right time seeing as Carroll County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
