The Hubbard Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Salem Quakers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hubbard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Hubbard came up short against Lakeview and fell 10-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Layla Songer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Komorek, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Salem fell victim to Columbiana and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Clippers. The match marked the first time this year in which the Quakers were not able to get on the board.

Hubbard's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Salem, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
