Basketball Recap: Jack Williams' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Walhalla over Belton-Honea Path

Walhalla lost against Belton-Honea Path back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Walhalla Razorbacks lost to the Belton-Honea Path Bears at home by a 73-56 margin.

Walhalla's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Williams, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 18 points and five boards. Williams has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Smith, who went 6 for 9 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Walhalla's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Belton-Honea Path, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-8.

Walhalla wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 46-34 victory against Crescent on the 28th. Belton-Honea Path has also already played their next game, a 77-34 win against West-Oak on the 28th.
