Basketball Game Preview: Frankton Eagles vs. Lapel Bulldogs

Two dominant forwards in Brady Carmack and Bode Judge are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Frankton Eagles will square off against the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a 12-game winning streak alive.

Frankton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-43 win over Elwood. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Panthers are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lapel earned a 70-63 victory over New Castle last Tuesday.

Frankton better keep an eye on Luke Jones. He was instrumental in Lapel's win, as he made all 8 shots he took to post 21 points. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judge, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 20 points and five boards.

Lapel pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Frankton, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Frankton came up short against Lapel when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 61-50. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lapel's Brode B Judge, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 21 points.
