Recap: Eureka Loggers vs. Fortuna Huskies
After flying high against the Del Norte Warriors last Wednesday, the Eureka Loggers came back down to earth. Eureka took a hard 68-54 fall against Fortuna on Friday. Eureka was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fortuna apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 9th.
Several Loggers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Goodman, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Jahmil Rippy was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Eureka has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Fortuna, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka will take on Arcata at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Luke Moxon and Elijah Estrada. Fortuna's road trip will continue as they head out to face Las Plumas at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th.
