Softball Recap: Sotomayor Takes a Loss

Sotomayor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Maywood Academy Nighthawks, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-8 on Wednesday.

Sotomayor's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Maywood Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Sotomayor will venture away from home to take on Elizabeth at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Maywood Academy, they will be playing at home against Maywood CES at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolfpack will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Nighthawks surely won't give up without a fight.
