Baseball Game Preview: East Juniata Tigers vs. Upper Dauphin Area Trojans

East Juniata is 2-8 against Upper Dauphin Area since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tigers will welcome the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. East Juniata has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Juniata is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Line Mountain, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Eagles since May 20, 2021.

Kelton Bonnell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-2. Those home runs were his first of the season.

Upper Dauphin Area saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Minier, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

East Juniata's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Upper Dauphin Area, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. East Juniata has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Upper Dauphin Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
