Soccer Recap: Carthage Comes Up Short

Carthage came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Sabine Cardinals, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Cardinals are ranked 308th).

Carthage has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. The win (which was Sabine's fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carthage will venture away from home to face off against Henderson at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sabine, they are taking a road trip to take on Center at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
